How fermata music piano studio started
In 2009, the owner of Fermata Music, Samantha Cisilino, started working as a piano teacher out of her family living room. A couple months later, she got a job at a local music store and found herself with a handful of students. She loved everything about teaching piano: the excitement when a student finished a piece, the proud moments of watching them perform, and those ah-ha moments of clarity they would have when they finally understood how to do something. When the music store started to experience financial difficulties and closing was inevitable, Samantha was devastated. She did not want the relationships she built with her students to end and she did not want their piano progress to stop. With less than a handful of student, Samantha decided to open her own music studio, which she called 'Samantha Rose's Piano Studio'.
Six years later, in 2016, Samantha decided to rename the studio, 'Fermata Music Piano Studio'. Not long after, Samantha hired two teachers to help her with the number of requests she was receiving for lessons and she soon found her studio thriving. Fermata Music is now a studio for 30+ students in the Windsor area.

What we do
At Fermata Music, we teach individuals of all ages; however, certain ages come with certain complications.
For example, adult students will find that certain motor movements might not come as easy to them as if they were 8 years old, while young children might struggle to learn certain concepts adults may not have much difficulty with.
That being said, we encourage all students and parents to keep these developmental differences in mind when it comes to how quickly it will take to learn how to play the piano.

WHAT DOES "FERMATA" MEAN?

In music, a 'Fermata' is a musical symbol that tells you to pause on a note for an unspecified amount of time. With this in mind, Samantha put the word 'Fermata' and 'Music' together to encourage her students to hold onto their love of music for as long as they can.
